Mandalay FM is a format radio station that was launched in 2008. Operating from Yangon, it boasts a broadcasting reach of up to 90 miles around Mandalay, 30 miles surrounding Taunggu, 60 miles encompassing Yangon on the frequency of 87.9 MHz, and a 30-mile radius around Nay Pyi Daw on 88.3 MHz. Catering specifically to audiences aged between 25 and 50, the station serves approximately 10 million individuals. Being recognized as one of the premier FMs in Myanmar, its listenership predominantly consists of urban residents.

In May 2013, Mandalay FM underwent a transformation by adopting a live broadcasting system featuring dynamic radio show contents. Prior to this change, the station aired prerecorded music-based programs akin to other FMs in Myanmar. However, the pivotal shift marked by Mandalay FM becoming the very first to introduce live radio shows and traffic report announcements in Myanmar's history paved the way for an increased listenership. The engaging live show content coupled with traffic reports proved to be highly successful in captivating audiences. Notably, programs that encouraged audience participation also became a standout feature of Mandalay FM.
